Since its foundation in 2000, the Lions Racing Team, a student initiative of TU Braunschweig, is committed to the development of race cars. Yesterday, the students introduced the newest member of the Lions family, the LR14 with an electric drive.

The highlight of the presentation, from our point of view, was, of couse, the gearing of the LR14. The students used GWJ´s software products SystemManager in conjuction with eAssistant and GearEngineer for calculating, dimensioning and optimizing the bevel gear drive. Based on the GearEngineer data, the gears were manufactured by means of 5-axis milling.
